Born in Perth WA in 1927, Alan Seymour's career has included work as a freelance writer, radio announcer, reviewer, film critic, television script editor and producer. He is best known in Australia for his play 'One day of the year' (1960). From 1961-1996 he resided and worked in England and Turkey where he established a reputation for his film and television screenplays, scriptwriting, novels, articles and reviews.
